A tragic incident has occurred in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where Inspector Maxwell Zabu, a serving police officer, took his own life.
The incident happened at the Eagle Island residence of a former chairman of the Port Harcourt Local Government Area on Tuesday, April 22.
The Rivers State Police Command confirmed the incident and stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the inspector’s death.
The Command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, said post detectives from the Azikiwe Police Division visited the scene for preliminary investigations.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, has ordered a detailed investigation by the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Port Harcourt, to unravel the motive behind Inspector Zabu’s actions.
The police command is working to determine the circumstances leading to the tragic incident, and the outcome of the investigation will shed more light on the case.
